How To Open And Close A Travel Hula Hoop
Are you traveling with a collapsible hoop? You need to know this! https://youtu.be/q3rq1i-hrMU Here’s how to properly and SAFELY open and close a travel hula hoop. This is very important! AND Depending on the type of hoop you have you may have to open it differently.
HOOP TYPES:
Figure 8 /Infinity Hoop – so named because this is the shape ot goes into before it gets folded up.
Push Button Connector Hoop – this coils in to collapse. Some hoops may not be able to double coil in but may only go 1 1/2 times in and you can either tape, tie, velcro, or bungee to hold a smaller shape.
Friction Fit Hoop – connects like a push button hoop but the tubing and connector fits snugly without a push button.
IMPORTANT:
⭕ ONLY uncoil or collapse a hoop in room temperature! Failure to do so may crack or break hoop, and or stress or break connectors.
⭕ Do not leave hoop in collapsed position.
⭕ For best care, do not leave hoop in hot or cold places (like a car)! Plastic tubing can become brittle, crack and break in cold, or warp and melt in heat. Tapes will also have better longevity and good performance, plus continue looking Good with careful care with room temperatures and hooping on smooth surfaces.

Ever wake up and something just isn’t working? It could be minor. It could be major. For some of us it’s a rare occurrence, and for others it’s a chronic challenge.
It’s also an excuse to take you out of the game of life. You read that right. I didn’t just say “reason,” I said “Excuse.”
This is because through my own experiences, and watching other amazing people, those people get on and figure out something that WILL Work. And they continue to figure out how to move in new, and sometimes changing ways.
The trick or secret to this, is finding the things you CAN do, through gentle adaption. For instance, can you sit in a chair and change your movements accordingly? Can you sit on the floor? What Can you do, even from bed?
6 ways you can still do Something (Anything!) to keep “Moving”:
- Go much slower.
- Change your range of movement.
- Experiment with adaptive variations of what you would normally do.
- Try 5-10% of the intensity.
- Do just a few movements, instead of how many more you previously did.
- Super Concentrate your practice with better technique. Pick one or two specific aspect to improve upon, and focus on those.
Learning (or relearning) how to move in a new way around or despite pain can be quite the challenge.
But the benefits and rewards can include:
• Increased mobility
• Speeding up healing time.
• Enjoying the process of coming back to full speed or any and all.

10 Essential Tips To Hoop On Feet Successfully:
- ♥ Start the hoop rotating on your hand.
- ♥ Slide pointed foot up the arm (keep foot and arm connected TOGETHER as ONE rotation point!), into the hoop, and slide the hand out.
- ♥ Go Barefoot! 🙂 Better grip!
- ♥ Use a mat to protect your spine and joints.
- ♥ Hoop on the instep of your foot (toe hooping is harder to control, and keep on the foot).
- ♥ You can do a hoop “break”–sending the hoop in the opposite direction by tapping the non-hooping foot on the outside of the hoop–quickly and gently.
- ♥ Watch your FACE! The hoop will be coming down unexpectedly while you are mastering this new trick. A Smaller, LIGHTER Hoop is recommended for this reason! FYI: Smaller and lighter will rotate faster, but hurts less when it bonks you!
- ♥ The hoop will also be flying off of your foot when starting…probably a Lot…move breakables and keep practicing! 🙂
- ♥ When the hoop slides down the ankle, slide other foot in and up and catch hoop back on the instep of either of your feet .
- ♥ You can move the foot hooping leg to angles by flexing your foot (Flexing acts as a “foot break”…when you point the foot it will release the hoop–so you can catch it, toss it, or transition into other moves!
