Small Consistent Steps to Healthy-Green Drink Hacks
How Can You Get Healthy? Small…Consistent…Steps.
Many of us stop and start so much when trying to get to our finish line. Using this “Dotted Line” path toward your goals, is one way to accomplish your goals and one that many of us default to because of life.
However, making incremental progress, consistently, is really helpful for actually reaching your goal rather than blasting out progress (starting) then stopping, then starting again and repeating that time consuming energetic time cycle. Just Keep Going.
Green Drink Tips and Hacks
Here’s an example that I’ve been putting into practice more recently. I’d ideally like to have a fresh green juice every day…but I have a shortcut go-to, so I can accomplish this a bit easier. I want to stay on my health goal path to keep my immune system at a more optimal level, and help counterbalance my sugar intake, when I’m not quite sticking to my sweet reduction goal. However, I don’t have the time every day to pull out the juicer, juice, and clean up.
1.) My Really FAST Green Shot Hack:
I figured out for me what works in a pinch. I have some greens powder that I can spoon into a glass jar, add a few ounces of water, juice, or coconut almond milk (one of my new favorite dairy alternatives) and make a really fast “Green Shot.” It goes down in 1-3 gulps. Is it live enzymatic juice? No. But it sure beats many other options I could easily falter to, and I’m making a consistent step towards my “more greens” goal.
I talk about this fun hack in this episode of my Hoop Love Ya’ll Show:
2.) Next Best Blending Green Drink Hack:
If I have a little more time, I have a bunch of frozen fruits and vegetables that I can throw in my NutriBullet blender with some water, juice, yogurt, or almond/coconut milk and make a smoothie. One of my tricks to not wasting food is to get fruits and veggies cut up and into the freezer just before they head south. This works GREAT for taking advantage of on sale or discount produce–especially if it’s organic! The best part of this is that you get your juice AND the Fiber, too–which most people don’t get enough of in their food intake. That fiber helps with metabolism, is a scrub brush for your intestines, and helps give you a nice sustained, nutritious energy. Yes, please to that!
Super Immune Boost/Inflammation Reducer Hack:
FYI–Ginger is Fabulous in the freezer–I can cut it with my kitchen scissors and it lasts so much longer without shriveling up before I get to use it.
3.) Best Green Drink Option-Press or Juice:
If I have the time, and produce in the fridge, I will get out the juice press (we have an Omega which I love). It’s slower but really presses out the juice so darn well. I can also bring out the big juicer (we have a Breville) and go to town. I like to make up a bunch and store it in glass bottles for the fridge. You could freeze it…if you put it in plastic bottles (now I’ve gotta go try this). Leave a bit of space for expansion, if freezing.
Juicing is even more time consuming for me because I have gone to the veggie side and really load my drinks up with lots of vegetables and very little fruit. My husband, on the other hand–he prefers a highly drinkable juice, which for him includes much more sweetness and fruit with a hint of veggies. So that takes a while. But I love him and want to make sure he drinks it if I’m making the effort to juice it.
4.) Delegate Your Green Drinks Hack:
Of course if schedule and effort are issues, you can swing by a juice bar where they can make it up fresh for you–and to your liking. It can be pricey, but your time is definitely worth it. Plus you can save money in the long run with your improved health care costs (and perhaps no medications).
5.) Buy Your Green Drink Pre-Made Hack:
In a pinch, the pre-bottled juices at your local grocery store will do, too–although most load them up with extra sugary fruits like apple, pear and grape to make them more palatable for the general public. When you drink sweet juices, you are missing the fiber which helps properly regulate the insulin in your body. So basically you are getting a sugar rush…just a little healthier than a candy bar. Make sure to read and research your labels–there’s lots of sneaky ingredients out there you should be aware of before consuming.
No matter what you do, do something–anything–that you know will lead you in a positive direction to your goals. One thing matters. Especially if it’s followed up by another one thing, and another one thing, consistently.
“Just Keep Going.” That gets me to my goal, which is a daily effort and work in progress. Or as Dory from Finding Nemo would say, “Just keep swimming!” (Thanks to Ellen DeGeneres, the voice of Dory.)

Hoop Love Ya’ll Show ~ Rising Theme
In This “Rising” Theme Show Episode/Topics/Summary:
Life has it’s high’s and lows. Enjoy and ride those highs. And on some of those lows, a little bit of humor might help. Update on our now angel pup Caly. Pet cameos by the lazy and crazy. A humorous funeral tale. Live show feedback. And a “rising” hoop move tutorial on “The Vortex.” Use good Sunblock. ♥ Hoop Love, Ya’ll~Che’
Hoop Love Ya’ll Show
Health, Humor and Hooping with Che’ Rippinger of Hip The Hoopla
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
♥ Hooping Pet Cameos with lazy and crazy♥
“Sometimes release, is the hardest part of holding on to life.” ~Che’ Rippinger
Caly Angel “Rising”…her short journey was my care-giving gift and heartfelt life lesson. Amethyst, Thunder Shirt, Rescue Remedy, Vet visits, CBD oil and lots and lots of care…still couldn’t help our little pup.
Death. Humor. Coping. Sometimes you need to see the funny spots to help you get through the tragedy, so you can do what you need to do. Insert a long story about my Grandfather’s passing and how I helped keep my mom together with really bad (but welcoming) humor.
Sunscreen…NO…Use SUNBLOCK: Make sure your sunblock has zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide…NOT the chemicals that react on the skin with the sun-rays…those are toxic and carcinogenic! Take it from someone who’s had melanoma razored out of her arm in a huge AMA approved section…once. Different strategy if it happens again.
Pet Cameos/tricks for treats:
Lazy Shiva dog does a “High Five” from the floor resting position.
Crazy Capri Kitty tries to bite my fingers off (while doing tricks) because she goes ga-ga over a certain kind of treat.
♥ Laughter Yoga Breathing Exercise: Just breathe. Deep inhales and deep exhales…Especially if under stress or duress. Get that oxygenation in to keep the bad stuff out.
♦♦♦Hoop Tutorial “The Vortex” with back hand hoop pick up, first:
♦ 1. Get that back hand pickup first. Follow the tips and tricks to avoid “Hoop E.D.” aka “hoop droop.”
♦ 2. Above the head, hand-off from one to another with a thumb to thumb inside grip.
♦ 3. Repeat. Back pick up with one hand, then place down with other hand. You can hand off from hand to hand in a continuous loop cycle.

Hoop Love Ya’ll Show ~ Boss
In This “Boss!” Theme Show Episode/Topics:
Like a Boss!–Do you feel “Like a Boss?” Here’s how you can find your way to develop more self confidence (it may not be the “control” you seek, but control is usually an illusion). Also learn how to stop second guessing yourself through research, meditation, and your own inner awareness.♥ Hoop Love, Ya’ll~Che’

♥ Cute Pet Cameo with Kitty Capri ♥
Figure out what makes YOU feel like a Boss*!
*Hint*: it’s different for everyone.
And if you can’t figure it out, or even if you do, “Fake it till you make it.”
What’s up with the power of Boots (a little purposeful flip to the advice of my high school English/Speech Teacher).
“BOSS Boosts” Examples (for me): pinstripes, putting my hair up, and wearing boots all make me feel pretty darn “Boss.”
♦ ♦ ♦ How to stop Second Guessing Yourself:
♦ 1. Research – If you don’t know, find out. Not all the sources will match and you will have to hone in on what you feel is right for YOU.
♦ 2. Meditate/Go Within ~ Get quiet and go within your own center. Distill down the information for your needs. Finding the right path for you, may be very different than for someone else.
♦ 3. Getting That Sense of Self ~ You already know the answer, if you just get quiet and still with your own inner voice. And maybe the assistance of some helpful ancestor angels. Pay attention to the signs around you–especially if you asked, let the universe get an answer or two to you–Even if it’s not the one you were expecting or wanting.
♥ Laughter Yoga Breathing Exercise with Super Hero Power Pose ♥ Try it…It’s FUN!!!
♦♦♦The “Hook Hand” Hoop Saving/Recovery/Transition Trick / Move Tutorial:
♦ 1. Find the inner space circle of your hoop
♦ 2. “Hook” your hand into that circle.
♦ 3. Keep moving with your hoop and continue the flow. Use your pinky and thumb to break/stop hoop twirl and send in other direction.
♦ 4. Make any hoop outta control movements, oops, or mistakes look like “I meant to do that!” …with attitude!
Additional Inspiration/Quotations:
♦ “When you drop your hoop (or screw up in any way), act like you Meant to do that!” ~ Che’ Rippinger
♦ “I am not bossy. I am the BOSS.” ~Mug wisdom
♦ “Fake it til you make it.” ~Old show biz and business saying

Hoop Love Ya’ll Show~ Free Theme
In This “Free” Theme Show Episode/Topics:
Free?–Yes? Sort of. Free is a good idea. Free fits in the budget. But Free isn’t always actually free. Sometimes you have to exchange time, energy, and even money–depending on what else you are willing to give up to get what you want. Free only has value if you put that resource into use right away. ♥ Hoop Love, Ya’ll~Che’

Myths and Truths of “Free”:
♦ 1. Myth of “Free Time” – You probably won’t magically “find” any free time, but you may need to create or reallocate time from something else. Example: Goal vs. sleep. If you can get up a little earlier to work on your goal, that may be a viable option to achieving what you want.
♦ 2. Myth: You “Can’t Afford” ~ There are many resources available for free. Start by asking your local librarian. Or visit the internet. Just remember that “free” can be a free-for-all in sorting out truth, options an opinions.
♦♦♦Free Technique To Try:
“The Radio Dial Game”
♦ 1. Start with a real radio with a dial.
♦ 2. Stop on the first song and pick something to do.
♦ 3. Go to next song on the dial and pick something else to do.
♦ 4. Use your “hoop notebook” to capture ideas when you do have them, for practice times when you don’t.
Additional Inspiration/Quotations:
♦ “Free fits in with my budget!” ~ Che’ Rippinger
♦ “Why ‘work’ on it, when we can just ‘play’ with it.” ~Che’ Rippinger

Hoop Love Ya’ll Show ~ Dream Big Theme
Hoop Love Ya’ll Show
Health, Humor and Hooping with Che’ Rippinger of Hip The Hoopla
In This “Dream Big!” Show Episode/Topics:
‘Dream Big’–Do you have a secret, or not-so-secret goal? Let’s get busy helping you make it happen. It’s going to take planning, action and tweaking as you go beyond where your learning curve is. Learning is a new thing and can be fun even if it’s scary and out of your comfort zone. Plus Che’s fav recommendations, too.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
3 Things to Remember to “Dream Big!”:
♦ 1. Think Big – Pick a “Big Fat Hairy Goal” / a.k.a. What’s your “B.H.A.G.” – Big Hairy Audacious Goal
Example: World Hoop Day Song
♦ 2. PLAN, TRY, TWEAK, REPEAT ~ Rarely do things go according to plan. By starting, you learn by doing and can course correct when challenges come up.
Example: Many months in attempting to write the World Hoop Day Song, writing but not quite getting it.
♦ 3. Che’ says (and gives her permission if you need it), “It’s O.K. to fly by the seat of your pants.” If we wait until things are perfect, it’ll never get done. Start, try, do it anyway. You’ll learn along the way.
Example: Try it anyway, even if someone says you cannot, or you can’t do it well.
Healthy Recommendations Discussion:
♦ Cannabis “juicer mulch” is great in it’s THC-a (acid, non-psychoactive) state. You can use it in smoothies, make little dessert bonbon balls by mixing with cocoa powder, coconut oil, cinnamon, etc.
♦ Orange Oil-food grade, can be used in a diffuser with peppermint or eucalyptus essential oils for an aromatherapy energy boost. Also can be used as a “sweet” flavor for the palete. You can mix orange oil in with an alcohol-free vanilla for a non-sugar way to make something taste like a “Dream-Big-Cicle.” Try with a non-dairy yogurt like coconut and some ice and blend up for that creamy, cold, delicious texture. Another”sweet” palate helpful substitutions if going “no-sugar” is cinnamon. Cinnamon also helps rev up the metabolism. So does chili powder.
♦ Ohco-Flow/Ohco-Motion– Chinese herbal blend that helps with recovery and injury healing.
♦ Calcium, especially with minerals like Magnesium, Zinc and Potassium, are very helpful after a workout to help prevent and reduce lactic acid build-up which is what makes for muscle pain and soreness.
♦ Glass/Crystal Nail File – Great for a perpetually reusable nail file that replaces the traditional disposable cardboard/sandpaper emery boards, so that you don’t have to throw them out. Eco-friendly, cost-effective and pretty!
♦ Stainless Steel Straws (I call the iridescent one’s my Unicorn Straws”)
♦ A travel Spork (travel food utensil)
♥ Circus Dog Cameo-Brown with some great hoop jumping ♥
♦♦♦Circus-Type Hoop Moves:
♦ Hoop Pop Up/Spring
for BEST results, use a polypro or HDPE tubing hoop. Do NOT use a cheap small, light toy store hoop or it will bend, kink, and possibly break. Do not over smoosh down for extra spring, or you could do the same damage with your more expensive hoop.
♦ Cool Circus-Like Hoop Dance Combo*
(*One of my favorites I learned from a Luna Breese workshop):
♦ 1. Hoop Toe Pick up
♦ 2. Kick Up
♦ 3. Step Through
♦ 4. Upper body Dive In and Through
♦ 5. Wedgie …to…
♦ 6. Escalator
Additional Inspiration/Quotations/Variations:
♦ “If you shoot for the stars, you might just reach the moon.” Che’s interpretation
♦ “Shoot for the stars but if you happen to miss, shoot for the moon instead.” ~ Neal Armstrong
another famous variation…
♦ “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” ~ Norman Vincent Peale

Hoop Love Ya’ll Show~ProTips Theme
In This “ProTips” Show Episode/Topics:
ProTips–Yes you can bang your head against the wall and figure it out yourself…OR you can call in a “professional” and shortcut your learning curve or get it done better, cheaper or perhaps just faster. This can be for your house, car, eating, hooping or whatever you want to improve. Here’s 3 ProTips aka “keys” to help you.
Hoop Love Ya’ll Show
Health, Humor and Hooping with Che’ Rippinger of Hip The Hoopla
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
3 Things to Remember about Going Pro:
♦ 1. Hire A Pro – You can do this before, during or after beating you head against the self learning/do-it-yourself way. Make sure your pro is good or comes with recommendations (and remember, with a few bad reviews in a sea of good–not everyone likes everything or can be pleased to their expectations). Hire a pro if you want to shortcut your learning/getting s*** done process.
Secret FYI Pro Tip: “Just because someone calls themself a ‘Pro,’ doesn’t mean they’re good at their job, it just means they get paid/money for it.”~Che’ Rippinger
♦ 2. Right Tool For The Right Job ~ Like a Hammer versus a Screwdriver, ask what’s your intent/purpose and get the right tool (ask a pro for some advice!) for the right job.
Examples: Hoop sizes based on your needs/ how you hoop/ what you are going to do with it/ how you will treat it.
Foods to fuel your body Twinkie versus an organic apple.
♦ 3. A Pro Is NOT A Miracle Worker ~ YOU still have to do the work, put in the practice, maintain, or know about the task, thing or service.
Example: Dad and the oil change–know some basics.
♦♦♦Leg Hooping Tips and Techniques:
Inspired by and dedicated to our Fab Over 40 Hoop Community on Facebook. My “nemisis move that took me a whole YEAR to get!”
♦ 1. Leg hooping
♦ 2. Kickup
♦ 3. Shimmy
Additional Inspiration/Quotations:
♦ “I’m a professional. Don’t try this at home.” ~ Che’s mug
♦ “Just because someone claims to be a pro, doesn’t mean they’re good at their job.” ~Che’ Rippinger

Hoop Love Ya’ll Show~Help
Hoop Love Ya’ll Show
Health, Humor and Hooping with Che’ Rippinger of Hip The Hoopla
In This “Help” Show Episode/Topics:
Help–You CAN do it all yourself, or you can take a big time/effort/expense shortcut and seek help~Expert, Network & Intuitive. Plus some helpful hooping recovery techniques that can help with learning many more moves. And a little Laughter Yoga to help reduce stress and increase your happiness.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
3 Kinds of Help:
♦ 1. Expert – Someone who has spent years of studuing or has a lot more experience that you do can b-line your learning time by a lot. TIP: make sure they are reputable~just because someone is a “professional,” does not mean that they are good at what they do (it just means they take in money for it).
Example: I do a complimentary Hoop Consultation, which can save you a great deal of time and money, since I’ve already spent a lot of both of those learning what I could give you the “Cliff Notes” for!
♦ 2. Network ~ Your family, friends and colleagues can be an excellent resource for things you may need help in, anything from getting a new product to more major life dilemmas.
Example: When my mom had cancer and finally did ask for help, her family, friends and employees all stepped up in amazing ways with all kinds of recommendations, time and effort to make her journey a little easier and a lot less lonely and scary.
♦ 3. Intuitive ~ Tap into the internal messages that the combo of your brain and heart are telling you…AKA your “Gut Reaction.” If you don’t know, pick one and see how it sits with you. You’ll find if you really tune in, you will know. Also pay attention to signs and symbols–these may be your angels networking to get you some intuitive “hits.”
Example: Angel “hits” when deciding what to do…tap in and listen, because they are conspiring for you, if you let them.
♦♦♦3 Very Helpful Recovery Hooping Tips and Techniques:
Besides learning and practice, these three recovery techniques will be the successful foundation for most all further hoop dance growth and experience, especially for on-body hooping. (All demonstrated and taught on the video)
♦ 1. Speed Up
♦ 2. Duck In
♦ 3. Turn WITH the hoop rotation
Additional Inspiration/Quotations:
♦ “I get by with a little help from my friends” ~ John Lennon
♦ “Never let your ego get in the way of asking for help when in desperate need. We have all been helped at a point in our lives.” ~ Edmond Mbiaka
♦ My T-shirt motivation for the day: Sparkly heart (tap into your heart) with wings (listen to your angels!)
♦ “Do you want to learn this the easy way, or the long way?! Your choice.”~Che’ Rippinger, Chief Hooping Officer at Hip The Hoopla

Local: “Expansion from Limitation” Hoop Workshop Tuesday, 3/113/18 6:30pm at Namaste Studio, 701 Garrison Street, Lakewood, Colorado 80215, USA (and online class offerings, too!).
…Plus some sweet kitty Capri and puppy cameos to get you smiling/laughing!
•Yum To Try/Helpful and Healthful recommendations*:
1. Zevia Zero Calorie Soda-
A light tasting very yummy NO-sugar, no-caffeine, comes in many flavors, NATURAL alternative. A nice sweet treat instead of the mainstream immune system hindering sodas and pops containing high sugar/corn syrup/toxic aspartame/chemical sweetener .
2. Organic Lemon Juice (bottled) and organic lemons
You can grate the lemon zest for a lovely lemon aroma and flavor to many dishes from veggies, main course, to desserts and sugar free, high alkaline drink (water is still #1 in healthy)!
3. Coconut Amino Acids
Super yum and a great sweet & salty alternative to soy sauce and soy amino acids–tastes like Teriyaki sauce!
*Of Course: check with your doctor before trying any of these for yourself. Everyone and body is different, and reacts differently depending on when you take things, in what quatities and in combination with other things–so do be careful and do your own research. These are helpful for *me* and are things I’ve learned through having a health food store with my mom, and learning a lot along the way from other sources as well.
YUM TO TRY Recipes!
♥ Sautéd Veggies with Coconut Amino Acids:
• Pour 1-2 Tablespoons of Avocado or Olive oil in a stove top pan over medium heat.
•Add your favorite cut up veggies of your choice to pan (like sliced up brussels sprout, onion, in order of density and cooking time needed–add minced, crushed or fine sliced garlic last and greens that can wilt in like kale which is pretty hearty, then spinach which is more tender).
• Add tumeric with ground pepper to taste for great health benefits and maximum benefit/absorption.
• For extra flavor sprinkle some fresh (bottled works well, too–go for the organic) lemon zest and/or lemon juice.
♥ “Gourmet” Popcorn :
• 2 Tablespoons Organic Coconut oil in a lid handy large pan/pot.
• Add 1/4-1/2 cup of popcorn and Cover with a lid and cook over high heat until popping diminishes (and before it starts to smoke/burn!)
(I’m going to try popping Sorghum kernels as a corn alternative–but you have to constantly keep that moving so it doesn’t burn!)
• Add some great spices afterwards! Try a Mexican blend with chili powder (start with a little, you can always add more!), paprika (especially smoked!) and onion salt, or cinnamon and stevia, or a kettle sweet and salty taste treat spraying a fine mist of coconut amino acids over and shuffling the mix until lightly coated (but not soaked!)

Hoop Love Ya’ll Show ~ Relaxing Theme
Health, Humor and Hooping Tips and Tricks with Che’ Rippinger
In This Show Episode: Relaxing is our theme with suggestions on using Lavender, Kava, 5HTP, Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc combo~ to help with sleep, de-stressing, relaxing, anxiety, insomnia and overall happy health.
~ Hoop Love, Ya’ll!~Che’ Rippinger of Hip The Hoopla
Enjoy & tune in weekly~Thank You!
Health & Humor-
• Laughter Yoga Breathing Exercise
• Health Tips – Tapping–“release and peace” short tapping introduction and tapping example session, Recommending Nick Ortner for great Tapping books, videos, etc.
…Plus Several very silly Pet Cameos that includes kitty Capri, Shiva, Caly and visiting big pup Brown!
Helpful and Healthful To Try / Health Recommendations*-
• Lavender–several helpful tips and tricks I use and how you can incorporate them for your daily life (including de-stressing a trip to the dentist), Dr. Bronner’s Lavender Organic Hand Sanitizer and trying lavender in a tincture or tea.
• Kava–great for relaxation, sleep and de-stressing. Demonstration on how I use the tincture. My experience with trying out the new local Mad Hatters Kava Bar with fun flow and hoop friends. (https://www.facebook.com/madhattersmilehigh)
• 5HTP–My all natural “happy pill(s)” which actually can help you sleep. (all of these do not have a “sleep hangover” or drowsiness upon waking component like other medications can).
• Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc–Great for helping with sleep and reducing the lactic acid buildup that creates sore muscles.
Hooping Tips and Tricks/Hoop Hacks-
• Wonderful World of Wedgies and Escalators–several helpful tips and tricks I use and have learned (advice from Nick Guzzardo, Valentina of Twisted Orbit and Emma Kenna) and how you can incorporate them for your daily life (and go on to create or learn new variations with these as a base.)
I like using the grip escalator when releasing my hoop isn’t a safe option. Be careful when working on wedgies repeatedly as they can bruise your inner thighs, and that’s painful and no fun!
