LOTS to do in Crossville, Tennessee!
Someone posted in one of our local groups asking what was available to do here in our town of Crossville, Tennessee. Here’s my answer: There are SO many great and different events and classes to attend–especially at the Art Circle Public Library. You can also offer to teach a class or two there. I offer 4 free hula hoop dance classes a year! I’ve made so many friend connections through the Library, and taken up learning guitar, learning how to crochet, participated in an amazing seed exchange, learned some oragami, have seen some amazingly talented performers there, etc.
There are also a Lot of events, and event listings in Crossville. Lots of Classic Car Shows, Festivals (Strawberry, Apple, Garlic, Garden shows), craft shows, County Fair, flea market, Big Foot Festival, farmers markets, Friday at the Crossroads, Lots of concerts (my hubby is playing Saturday, November 15 Wickid Garden -Stone Temple Pilots tribute band- at The Historic Palace Theater – Crossville, TN at 7pm). The Palace hosts a variety of other events including movies, pagents, comedy, and the Songwriter’s Festival.
The Crossville Chronicle has weekly listings, as well as the radio stations–on their websites and announcing on air.
We also have soooooooo many churches in the area, and each have events, volunteer opportunities, and gatherings. Dirty Girls Nursery, Dogwood Exchange, Goat Chicks and others have cool classes.
There’s the Mom’s of Crossville group which hosts monthly book club, playdates, mom’s coffee and nights out.
There’s also lots of small businesses in and around town that host events, or would love someone to help them plan something.
And if you like outdoors, we have parks, hiking groups, waterfalls, and even the Cumberland Trails Conference right next to Forte’s restraurant that is helping clear a 300 mile trail that connects communities in Tennessee!
Check out the Lucas and Friends Christmas Show at the Palace Theater on Thursday, December 6th (I’ll be dancing a duet in it), and Parades….lots of us will be in the Christmas Parade on Saturday December 13th at 4:30 pm. If you want to come hula hoop with us, let me know! Plus I started the Crossville Circus Club which helps us bring some pretty talented people and students together. Hopefully that gives you some more options. Oh, and each individual area in town has their own events, too! Lake Tansi, Fairfield Glade, Downtown Crossville Inc., etc.
FYI, Crossville is known as both the golf capital and classic car show capital of Tennessee!!
We also have many neighboring towns, and cities with their own events, which are just a beautiful road trip away. And Tennessee is surrounded by 8, yes EIGHT states…if you want a little longer adventure!
Come on out and experience a small community with LOTS to Offer. Enjoy!!
(Shameless plug: If you want to learn how to hula hoop, belly dance, try Laughter Yoga, (or even martial arts), check out some of my offerings at www.HipTheHoopla.com/classes. And you can even try a FREE class online, too!
